Zwei die es wissen wollen.
Mit Hintergrundgitarrengrollen geht der Einstieg in ihr neues Album
Mind Graffiti
schonmal gut los.
Mit Face Off warten die Beiden hier gleich mit einem regelrechten Hit auf, ein druckvoller Beat, eine erinnerungswürdige Melodie, eine mit verschlungen Keyboards überzogene Leckerei.
Über den erwähnten Gitarren (Eric Weissinger, der hier unter anderem auch für das Bass-Spiel verantwortlich zeichnet) ein unermüdliches Schlagzeug und die (Joan Jett-)Rock n Roll-Stimme von L E Kippner (Mitglied im schwedischen Gesangsverein Neobox), die hier sagt, wo es lang geht. Irgendwann dann, nach knapp drei Minuten verstummen die Gitarren.. erst als sie wieder einsteigen und an Fahrt aufnehmen gewinnt der Song wieder an Substanz.
Vertigo. Nicht nur ein bemerkenswerter Film des Altmeisters Hitchcock.
Sirenengleich orgelt es im Hintergrund, ein fast besinnlich wirkender Einstieg, Track Nummer 2. Zum Tambourin dann im Mittelteil beruhigende Stimmung, dann wieder, dankenswerterweise die einsetzende, drängende und in diesem Fall gedrosselte E-Gitarre.

Zwischendurch immer wieder ein pistolenschußgleiches Schlagzeug, das trippige Popmelodien durchmischt, eingestreute Vocalsamples (Intermittment), krachige Gitarreneinschübe.
So geht es dahin, klingt vertraut, klingt frisch, läuft.. bis man schließlich aufhorcht.. Das… ..kenn ich doch irgendwoher?! Mit Depeche Mode-artigem Synthiegespiel dampft hier etwas ganz und gar seltsames auf uns zu.
Du Hast. Richtig, Rammstein.
Meine Güte. Man weiß gar nicht, was man sagen soll.
Der schwedische Akzent wohltuend verzerrt im Hintergrund.
Ist das jetzt.. Kunst?
Nun.
Egal.
Ein Album, dass man gut und gern als amibitioniert und bemerkenswert einstufen kann.

Two who want to know.
With background-rolling guitars the entrance into their new album
Mind Graffiti
starts like a rocketship.
With that Face Off they both come up with a real hit, a powerful beat, a memorable melody, a delicacy covered with intricate keyboards.
About the mentioned guitars (Eric Weissinger, who is also responsible for mainly songwriting and the bass playing here) an untiring drum kit and the (Joan Jett-)Rock n Roll voice of L E Kippner (member of the Swedish vocal club duo Neobox), who says where to go. At some point, after about three minutes the guitars fall silent… only when they get back in again and pick up speed the song gains more substance again.
Vertigo. Not only a remarkable film by the old master Hitchcock.
Like a siren, it organizes in the background, an almost contemplative entrance, track number 2. To the tambourine then a calming mood in the middle part, then again, thankfully the incipient, urging and in this case throttled electric guitar.

In between a pistol-like drum set that mixes trippy pop melodies, interspersed vocal samples (Intermittment), noisy guitar inserts.
That’s how it goes, sounds familiar, sounds fresh, runs… until you finally pay attention… That… do I know it from somewhere?! With Depeche Mode-like synth play something completely strange is steaming towards us here.
Du Hast. Right, Rammstein.
My goodness. You don’t know what to say.
The swedish accent pleasantly distorts in the background.
Is that now… Art?
Well.
Never mind.
An album that you can classify as good, amibitated and remarkable.
