So ein, „ich kenn Dich-Ding“. Ein „..und ich mag Dich“.
So ein, „Du bist ein Teil von mir“. Ein Teil meines Lebens.
PRINCESS CHELSEA
war mit Cigarette Duet hier mein erster Blogbeitrag.
Vor Ewigkeiten.
Das sagt mehr als 1001 Nacht.
Nein, das ging anders.
Rockig kommt sie daher, die uns mittlerweile kurzhaarig entgegenblickende junge Dame, die gern mal wild ist und in all ihrer Niedlichkeit ein wenig aufmüpfig sein möchte. So scheint es.
Rocky Horror Picture Show. so tönt der zweite Titel des neuen Albums jetzt.
Der erste, der Titelsong, der hat Honig. Im Blut. Also, im Klang.
Und dieser Titel, was für eine Ironie, denkt man sich.
Denn, wann auch immer man aktuelle Entwicklungen des Weltgeschehens verfolgt, das ist dieses Alles wird gut-Ding so mit das Letzte, was einem spontan in den Kopf kommt.

PRINCESS CHELSEA
hat bislang stets ein Zwinkern im Blut ihr Eigen genannt. Oder auch, wenn man so möchte, ein ausgeprägtes Faible für Ironie und ein Lachen über sich selbst.
Hier nun kommt sie, auf ihrem sogenannten Gitarrenalbum (und tatsächlich, obwohl – oder weil – sie eigentlich dem Gitarrenspiel nicht mächtig ist, gibt es hier erstaunlich viel dieses Instruments zu hören), und bleibt aber dankenswerterweise natürlich ihrem rosarot-getünchten Lieblings-Poppop treu.
Liebenswerte Refrains, die sich nicht nur sogleich ins Ohr bohren sondern nach ein paar Durchgängen sich hervorragend zum Mitsingen eignen.

Und zuckerig lieblich geht es weiter. Love Is More hat eine schnuckelige Melodie, wenn dann der Refrain einsetzt und in vertrauter Manier ausholt, um alles drumherum und sich selbst ein wenig zu verlachen, dann ist genau dies die kleine Welt der wunderbaren Künstlerin mit dem großen Gespür für Bubblegum-like-Songs mit „ich wickel dich um den Finger“-Sounds, das ist einfach großes Kino ohne Blabla und drumrum, das ist ein wunderbarer Spaß – und um mit dem Songtitel zu sprechen: Much more than a beautiful feeling..
Nichts anderes hat Fan erwartet.
Und doch – scheint eine gewisse Ernsthaftigkeit Einzug gehalten zu haben.
Vielleicht ist das auch die Erfahrung und der professionelle Herangehensweise an das Produzieren neuer Songs.
Denn, so gibt sie zu, die meiste Arbeit machen schon die catchy Popsongs. Eine Schleife hier, eine dort, ein Kringel hier, ein klingelndes Jauchzen dort.
Nach dem letzten etwas zurückhaltend wirkenden Album ist
Everything Is Going To Be Alright
wieder ein Album zum insgeheim in die Hände klatschen, eines zum Freuen und Spaß haben, picke-packe-vollgepackt mit kleinen Melodien, die einem tatsächlich Hoffnung machen.
Und von daher… könnte der Albumtitel passender nicht gewählt sein.

It’s a, „I know you“ thing. One like that and „I like you“.
So on, „you are a part of me“. A part of my life.

Felt like eternities ago.
That says more than 1001 nights.
No, that was different. She comes along rocky, the meanwhile short-haired young lady looking at us, who likes to be wild and in all her cuteness wants to be a little rebellious. So it seems.
Rocky Horror Picture Show. So, the second track of the new album now.
The first, the title track, it’s got honey. In the blood. So, in the sound.
What an irony, you think to yourself.
Because whenever you follow current developments in world affairs, this all will be well thing is one of the last things that spontaneously pops into your head.
Chelsea Nikkel has always had a twinkle in her eye. Or, if you like, a pronounced penchant for irony and laughing at herself.
Here she comes now, on her guitar album (and indeed, although – or because – she is actually not capable of playing the guitar, there is a surprising amount of this instrument to be heard here), but thankfully, of course, remains true to her rose-tinted easily loved Double-Poppop.
Lovable choruses that not only immediately drill into the ear but after a few passes are excellent for singing along.

And sugary sweet as usual it continues. Love Is More has a dinky melody, then when the chorus kicks in and lashes out in familiar fashion to make a little fun of everyone and herself, it’s the little world of this marvelous artist with the great flair for Bubblegum-like Songs with that special „I’ll wrap you around my finger“-sounds right out of her head, this is just great cinema without the blah and blah, this is just wonderful fun – to speak with the songtitle: Much more than a beautiful feeling..
Fan expected nothing else.
And yet – a certain seriousness seems to have taken hold.
Perhaps this is also the experience and professional approach to producing new songs.
Because, she admits, most of the work is already done by the catchy pop songs. A loop here, one there, a squiggle here, a ringing whoop there.
After the last somewhat restrained album
Everything Is Going To Be Alright
is once again an album to secretly clap your hands to, one to rejoice and have fun with, packed with little melodies that actually give you hope.
And therefore… the album title couldn’t be more fitting.
