Keine Schönheit ohne Gefahr.
Fans der Einstürzenden Neubauten wissen das seit mehr als 30 Jahren.
Von nichts kommt nichts.
Wenn die Dessner-Geschwister eine Platte aufnehmen könnte man damit rechnen, einen gewissen Aufschrei oder zumindest einen Ausruf der versammelten Presse zu vernehmen.
Doch, halt, nein. Nichts.
Vereinzelte positive Rezensionen ändern nicht wirklich etwas am ausbleibenden Sturm.
Sogar nicht mal Wind.
Dabei wäre hier ein Riesenaufgebot einer überlandgroßen Wetterstation angebracht.
Schönheit liegt im Auge des Betrachters.
Das hier aber 12 ganz außergewöhnlich wunderbar schöne Songs versammelt sind, steht außer Frage.
Dass diese Songs mehr sind als einfach 12 wunderbar schöne Songs ist auch klar, auch schon nach dem ersten Hören.
Diese Songs haben fast alle das Zeug schon Klassiker.
Betitelt und gereiht nach den Monatsnamen haben hier alle ihren eingenen Platz und warten sozusagen in aller Stille. Feuchtigkeit verzaubert Dinge. Wenn Regentropfen zu Schneekristallen werden.
Ds ist großartig, das macht Freude und ist etwas ganz besonderes.

heißt sowohl das Künstlerkollektiv als auch deren erstes gemeinsames Output. Die erste Arbeit daran liegt 15 Jahre zurück – und begann mit dem ersten Zusammentreffen zwischen Jessica Dessner und Rebekka Karijord.
Und das ist, meine Güte, wieso kennt das denn niemand? Ich bin irritiert. So richtig.
Weil, das hier ist wirklich und richtig gut und gut und gut.
Manchmal kommt alles anders, alles kommt anders als man denkt, als geplant, das Leben spielt unbeeinflusst, löuft, die Zeit nicht zu stoppen.
Während der Fertigstellung dieses ursprünglich als Projekt, dass als Betrachtung der Erde, der Welt, der Natur und dem Kreislauf an sich beobachtet, eine ärztliche Diagnose.
Ein Gedanke entsteht, ein Gedichtband, ein Ablauf des Lebens, des Hier und Jetzt, geändert durch die Krankheit, die Behandlung, die Heilung.
Dieses Buch dient nun Teil der persönlichen Heilung und titelgebendes Konstrukt.
Tönen die akustischen Gitarren gleich beginnend nahezu in klassischem Outfit, klingt alles orchestral und aus der Zeit, monumental, wie Chansons von damals, in aktuellen Melodien, mit Lyrics, die das Herz angreifen aber auch nicht verschlossenen Auges an aktuellen Themen vorbeisieht.
Poesie und Artistik, künstlerisches Gespür und grandios verknüpfte Songstrukturen, die gekonnt die Vocals mit den Instrumenten spielen lassen, verknüpfen, tanzen, auf- und ab und einnehmend, dass man darin eintauchen und versinken möchte.
Nicht einmal, immer wieder, sogleich, sodann.
Und noch einmal.
Tritt man ein, begibt man sich in eine eigene Welt, die Welt dieser musikalischen begeisternd musizierenden Menschen und der Schwedin Rebekka Karijord, die dem Projekt ihre Stimme lieh.
Die sich anschmiegt, einfügt, die zentrale Position einnimmt, ganz, wie es der Song erfordert.
Zwölf Songs, faszinierende Beobachtungen, distanzlos, direkt und prallvoll mit Emotionen.
Das ist ein tiefstpersönliches Werk.

No beauty without danger.
Fans of Einstürzende Neubauten have known this for more than 30 years.
Nothing comes from nothing.
When the Dessner siblings record a record one might expect to hear a certain outcry or at least an exclamation from the assembled press.
But, wait, no. Nothing.
Isolated positive reviews don’t really change the lack of a storm.
Not even wind.
A giant display of an overland-sized weather station would be appropriate here.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
But there is no question that 12 extraordinarily beautiful songs are gathered here.
That these songs are more than just 12 wonderfully beautiful songs is also clear, even after the first listen.
These songs have almost all the stuff already classics.
Titled and ranked according to the names of the months, all have their own place here and wait, so to speak, in silence. Moisture enchants things. When raindrops turn into snow crystals.
That’s great, that gives pleasure and is something very special.
COMPLETE MOUNTAIN ALMANAC
is the name of the artist collective as well as their first joint output. The first work on it was 15 years ago – and started with the first meeting between Jessica Dessner and Rebekka Karijord.
And this is, my goodness, why doesn’t anyone know this? I’m irritated. Like, really.
Because, this is really and really good and good and good.
Sometimes everything turns out differently, everything turns out differently than you think, than planned, life plays unaffected, runs, time unstoppable.
During the completion of this originally as a project that observed as a contemplation of the earth, the world, nature and the cycle itself, a medical diagnosis.
A thought is born, a book of poems, a sequence of life, the here and now, changed by the disease, treatment, healing.
This book now serves part of the personal healing and titular construct.
Sound the acoustic guitars right at the beginning almost in a classical outfit, everything sounds orchestral and out of time, monumental, like chansons of yesteryear, in current melodies, with lyrics that attack the heart but also not closed eye past current issues.
Poetry and artistry, artistic flair and grandiose linked song structures that skillfully let the vocals play with the instruments, linking, dancing, up and down and engaging, that you want to dive and sink into it.
Not once, again and again, immediately, then.
And again.
When you enter, you go into a world of your own, the world of these musically inspiring people and the Swedish Rebekka Karijord, who lent her voice to the project.
She nestles in, fits in, takes the central position, just as the song requires.
Twelve songs, fascinating observations, detached, direct and bursting with emotion.
This is a deeply personal work.
