Meine Abrechnung mit 2020. Es muss gehen. Andere tun es doch auch.

Wer Anfang des Jahres von einer Maske sprach, der hatte wohl noch eher den rheinischen Karneval oder buntes Treiben in Venedig oder gar Brasilien im Kopf.

Kein anderes Utensil ist mir in Erinnerung, das über lange Zeit in der Öffentlichkeit derart kontrovers diskutiert wurde.
Inzwischen wird man blöd angeschaut, wenn man „unmaskiert“ in eine Bank eindringt…

In diesem von der Scheißpandemie geprägten Jahr in dem vieles anders war, vieles nicht ging, auch in diesem Scheißjahr gab es Musik. Gute sogar.
Trotz Verboten und null Liveshow, Musik lässt sich nicht abschalten, nicht stoppen.
Musik bewegt und weckt Emotionen.
Genau die sind so wichtig.

Daher, hier die Interpreten, deren Alben ich gehört und beredet habe und ein paar von denen, für die nur die Zeit des Schreibens fehlte, nicht aber der Zugang und das Gefühl im Herzen.

Und wie üblich war auch in diesem Jahr die Kommunikation zwischen den Musiker*/ und mir wichtig.
Was auch der erste Platz wieder einmal beweist… ein*/ wahre*/ Künstler*/ Mensch.
Wirklich grandios.

Für 2021 wünsche ich mir, dass Vieles wieder ein wenig anders wird.
Und allen geliebten Menschen Zufriedenheit und Wohlergehen, allen Freunden und Bekannten, allen spontanen oder dauerhaften MitleserInnen alles Liebe.

Und nun – viel Spaß.

Anyone who spoke of a mask at the beginning of the year probably still had the Rhineland carnival or colourful goings-on in Venice or even Brazil in mind.
I can’t remember any other utensil that was so controversially discussed in public for so long.
In the meantime, people look stupid when you enter a bank „unmasked“…
In this year marked by the shit pandemic, in which many things were different, many things didn’t work, even in this shit year there was music. Good music, even.
Despite bans and zero live shows, music cannot be switched off, cannot be stopped.
Music moves and awakens emotions.
And that’s exactly what’s so important.
So, here are the artists whose albums I have heard and talked about and a few of those for whom only the time to write was missing, but not the access and the feeling in the heart.
And as usual, communication between the musicians/ and me was important this year. Which is also proven by the first place once again…. a/ true/ artist/ human being.
Really terrific.
For 2021 I wish that many things will be a little different again.
And happiness and well-being to all loved ones, all friends and acquaintances, all spontaneous or permanent readers all the best.

Denn die einen sind im Dunkeln und die andern sind im Licht und man siehet die im Lichte die im Dunkeln sieht man nicht.

Auf leisen Sohlen schleichen sie um Dich herum, samtpfötchengleich, huschen durch das im Feuerschein sich bewegende Ganze, die Schatten umhüllen das, was am Tage vertraut scheint, verwandeln, zittern, ein Innehalten, stoppen, ein atemloses Verweilen.

Um die Klänge auf diesem bereits neunten Solowerk von

ALLYSEN CALLERY

in sich aufnehmen zu können, braucht es keine große Anstrengung, nur ein klein wenig Zeit, ein offenes Ohr und einen Moment in Stille, den man sich fernab des Alltags gönnen möchte.

Und schon verharrt man, die vorbeirauschenden Autos bleiben stehen, Fußgehende in Bewegung stehen still, alles Gespräch verstummt.

Es fordert nicht, es nimmt einfach mit.
Ein Folkmusik-Album, ein im Herzen wildes, nach Außen hin bedächtiges, nachdenkliches Album voll anheimelnder Klangbilder, die wilde Fantasien ebenso wie Tagträume und Gedanken zu Musik werden lassen.

Ein im Grundton bedächtiges, eher stilles, bisweilen meditaives und nachdenkliches Werk, Anklänge an Marianne Faithful vermeint man in Tarot Card zu finden, nun, das sagt einiges über die Qualität, den Anspruch. Trader Horne oder Fotheringay, Myhrre und Weihrauch liegen förmlich betörend in der Luft die wir atmen, die Atmosphäre beschwört Erinnerungen herauf an hippyeske Freundinnen in anderer Zeit, an anderem Ort. Längst vergangen und doch stets lebendig, gerade nur einen kleinen Anstubser benötigend um erneut Minuten zu füllen, mit sehnsüchtig schwelenden Gedanken, vielleicht sogar Stunden.

Irgendwie scheint sie von Irgendwo anders her zu kommen. Durch die Wolken gereist oder durch die Steine gegangen. Dabei ist ihre Musik weder gespenstisch oder unheimlich, viel eher umgibt sie eine Art positiver Mystik und eine vertraute Femdheit, versprüht sie Charme und einen großherzigem Flair.

Keine abgehobene Künstlerin sondern eine Musikerin direkt dabei, ansprechbar, menschlich, freundlich, kommunikativ.
Und in all ihrer Kraft, all ihrer Ausstrahlung könnte dies für die Amerikanerin aus Rhode Island eine Zwischenstation sein, so als könnte man zukünftig andersartige Dinge von ihr erwarten.

Mit dem CosiRecords-Label aus Oberhausen scheint die Künstlerin überdies einen grandiosen Glücksgriff getan zu haben – oder ist es eher andersrum?
Jedenfalls ist das Pressearbeit, die Freu(n)de macht, die sich zudem über alle Maßen am Produkt freuen lässt.

For the one is in darkness and the other is in light, and one sees those in light and those in darkness cannot be seen.

On quiet soles they creep around you, like velvet paws, scurrying through the whole moving in the glow of fire, the shadows envelop what seems familiar by day, transforming, trembling, a pause, stopping, a breathless lingering.

To hear the sounds on this already ninth solo work by

ALLYSEN CALLERY

does not require a great deal of effort to absorb it, just a little time, an open ear and a moment in silence that you want to allow yourself far away from everyday life.

And then you stop, the cars rushing by stop, pedestrians in motion stop, all conversation falls silent.

It does not demand, it simply takes you along.
A folk music album, an album that is wild in the heart, thoughtful and thoughtful on the outside, full of homely soundscapes that turn wild fantasies as well as daydreams and thoughts into music.

A rather quiet, at times meditative and thoughtful work with a thoughtful keynote, reminiscences of Marianne Faithful are thought to be found in Tarot Card, well, that says something about the quality, the demand. Trader Horne or Fotheringay, Myhrre and Frankincense lie beguilingly in the air we breathe, the atmosphere evokes memories of hippy friends in other times and places. Long gone and yet always alive, just needing a little push to fill minutes again, with longing smouldering thoughts, maybe even hours.

Somehow she seems to come from somewhere else. Travelled through the clouds or gone through the stones. Her music is neither spooky nor eerie, but rather surrounded by a kind of positive mysticism and a familiar strangeness, radiating charm and a generous flair.

Not a detached artist but a musician directly present, approachable, human, friendly, communicative.
And in all her strength, all her charisma, this could be a stopover for the American from Rhode Island, as if one could expect different things from her in the future.

With the CosiRecords label from Oberhausen, the artist also seems to have made a great stroke of luck – or is it the other way around?
In any case, this is press work that makes people happy, and that also makes them very happy with the product.
